Create a still life image that demonstrates the passing of time and the inevitability of death (look up ‘vanitas’ on Google). Use classical props such as watches or clocks, dying flowers, rotting meat, faded photographs, etc. Remember that you have complete control of subject, lighting and composition and your result will be judged with this in mind.

LARGE print (Single image subject only)
Create an image that imbues the essence of a celebration. Any technique is acceptable as long as all components are photographic in origin. Consider objective and non-objective renditions. Important elements to consider are line, colour, form and gesture. Any subject is allowed as long as the final image is about celebration.

Using water in any of its forms (raindrops, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, waves, etc) to tell a story about the shifting nature of water, its power to distort reality, create colours and assume strange shapes and forms.
